How’s the Degree Course accessed?

Students intending to enrol in the Bachelor Degree Course have the opportunity to participate at the first phase of selection taking the CISIA On-line Test (TOLC-I) in the Spring in order to secure their place at University before completing the secondary school diploma (www.unical.it/ammissione )

A secondary phase of selection will be scheduled, then, on September, based on the final grade of the Secondary School Diploma, but with obligation to take and pass the TOLC-I too. (http://www.ingegneriacivile.unical.it/ammissione)

In both cases, it is necessary to fill in the online application form for the matriculation, according to the deadlines indicated in the Call for admission (www.unical.it/ammissione).

Education program in Civil Engineering

Education program in Civil Engineering is organized into two cycles. The first cycle is represented by the Three-Year Bachelor’s Degree and requires the Secondary-school diploma. The Bachelor’s Degree allows to enter the job market or continue to study in a graduate program. The second cycle is represented by the Two-Year Master’s Degree and requires the Bachelor Degree. Master’s Degree allows graduates to enter the job market or access to advanced training programs.

The educational activities of each academic year are organized in two semesters. A specific number of credits is assigned to each subject. The credits represent the total student workload that is required for passing the exam.

Learning activities include lectures, exercises, laboratories, visits in building sites, internships in professional offices, companies and offices of the Public Administration; many hours are devoted to project works.

It is possible (and highly recommended) to complete your education by attending study courses at foreign universities through the Erasmus+ Programme.

Both Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree allow to access to first and second-level of Professional Master Course, respectively. The standard duration is 1 year providing knowledge for specific professions. Master’s Degree gives access to PhD courses providing for an advanced qualification useful both in the job market and university.
